We learned how to tell French time , 2 minutes really means 45 minutes.

Some pictures from our trip to Chatillon-Coigny.

Lots of water coming in!

Chatillon-Coligny

A very relaxing short day was in order. We left the woods and before you knew it we were tying up in Chatillon-Coligny. Just in time for lunch the twelve of us once again descended upon a quiet little french town! We had a nice lunch at a brasserie, some of us inside and some ate outside. After lunch we asked about a grocery store. Some men at a table nearby said it was  2 minutes away! As we started to walk they changed their mind as they thought we had a car.....it now became a ten minute walk. Earlier I was telling you about the boaters from California that said the French really do not know how to tell time? Well, today we learned the hard way that they do not know time or distance.
Anyhow, off we went over hill and over dale ~ at one point we saw a sign that said straight ahead 2 minutes, then advertising for another store saying turn right. Carrie and Frank turned right and found themselves in a nice French neighborhood. A half hour later Evelyn did the same thing and a women asked her if she knew Carrie from California They both asked the same women for directions! It ended up taking us about forty five minutes to finally find the X?!@ grocery store. Some of us took a taxi back with the haul and others walked! If I ever see those two men again I will ask them how they expected us to walk there in 10 minutes -considering that it was all uphill as well!

I think he had also started walking to the grocery store and froze in his tracks.

Some people had the energy to walk back into the village for dinner the rest of us just relaxed on the  boats.  Some ladies tried to do laundry and even went as far as getting the tokens and finding the machines in the campground ....but the tokens did not work! So sad.. another day of dirty clothes to come.
