Chateau De Chenonceau & Chateau de Nitray

Friday August 15th

An early start and thank goodness we did! We once again pre-purchased our tickets believing all the hype that we would skip the line! The reality was that we were so early, we were the line. However, in all honesty it did not take long before the hordes started to appear.
Chateau de Chenonceau dates to the 16th century. It was pretty spectacular so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Pigeons were clinging to the wall eating bugs from between the cracks, just seemed weird to me.

Listening intently to the recording!

Smile!

Garth and Terri in the garden.

Gardens across the canal.

The castle spans the Cher River.

Every castle has a princess - this one just happens to have an Ipad and be playing a game!

The King and I

Hard to see but there is an amazing collection of copper pots & pans.

Looks like a dessert Pizza but it is a French version of a pizza. Ground beef with an egg in the middle!
It was all gone at the end of lunch but George had help eating it!

Just happened to see this one from the road -looks like it has potential!

Chateau de Nitray - wine tasting!
We did a self guided tour and then of course the tasting!

So, what's is different here. We are "TASTING" -  four bottles, four people - help yourself! The Niagara wineries could learn a thing or two .  Northshore Wineries must have been here because this is how John does tastings!

So many Chateau's so little time!
