Chateau Cheverny

Sunday August 17th

We left Amboise and headed for Chateau Cheverny.  This Chateau has been in the same family for six centuries, it has been open to the public since 1922. The family still lives in one wing of the chateau.
From here we drove to Bourges where we were going to spent the night but did not like the looks of it and honestly there is nothing much to do in France on a Sunday unless you are in a major city so we carried on to Nevers.

If it looks familiar to you it is used throughout the Tin Tin series.

Nursery with miniature sewing machine and small scale furniture.

Rocking horse dates to Napolean.

Portuguese Water Dog - an old and noble breed!

Baccarat centre piece!

We left the Chateau and drove to Nevers. We checked out the place where we have to pick up the boat tomorrow and where we can get some groceries then finally where we need to drop off the car!!! I think we are all set to board the boat and start our French loop. We will not have regular internet so posting will be hit and miss!
